TRANSPARENCY MAP
An exploration of what a transparent food system might look like.
After researching the chain of tomatoes being farmed and imported to Iceland every week, research that materialised into a map aptly named Transparency Map.
The rough prototype explores ways of communicating and visualising the impact of import and produce in Iceland worked with data from KRÓNAN and their insight gathered from informal interviews of the design and management team and a three week residency at KRÓNAN headquarters.
The first prototype was brought into one KRÓNAN store as a conversation starter with costumers to better understand the curiosity of people in general about the origin and impact of the food we all consume.
What do people know and what do people want to know?
There is a gap in the market of information. The source is often times hidden. Our relationship with the food we buy and eat everyday has grown more distant then every before. More food is grown then we can consume.
So how do we bridge this gap and mend this relationship with food…
Tell me what you think! How can we mend our relationship with food?
